Big Chinchompa is a twice daily, members-only Hunter Distraction and Diversion where the player needs to find and speak with a gnome called Nyriki at hunter areas around Gielinor to participate in feeding a massive plutonial chinchompa soporith moths to get it back to sleep again.
Requirements
There are no requirements to play this Distraction and Diversion besides being a member. However, the different soporith moths require different Hunter levels to catch.
Getting there
To play the game, the player will need to find Nyriki at one of the hunter areas in RuneScape. The ground will start to shake at the spot Nyriki will appear, and indicates that it will only be a short time.
The easiest way to find him is to go to the Gnome Stronghold and use the orange portal upstairs south of the Gnome Agility Course.
Note: This portal can only be used 3 times a day. Times on different worlds are synchronised. Players can't hop worlds to find Nyriki sooner. The game runs at the top of the hour.
You can also check the time left for Nyriki to appear by the "Check" option on the orange portal. Mieliki will also tell when and where Nyriki will appear through the Lunar spell, NPC Contact, but will not teleport you this way.
Gameplay
Games last 20 minutes, or until the chinchompa gets full and falls asleep. Players can join a game in progress, but will have less time to accumulate points. Nyriki moves to a new location at the top of the hour.
Players need to collect soporith moths and release them in the Plutonial Chinchompa's nest/lair.
On entering the cave/game area, Nyriki gives the player a Moth jar. Players can catch moths two ways. Either catch flying moths or click on shaking branches. Protea flowers can be picked off bushes in the corners of the cave. Wielding them provides an additional way of catching moths, as they occasionally appear near the flower, attracted by its nectar, and can be caught automatically by player. This may, however, fail. Note: The type of moth attracted by the flower will always be the highest one the player can catch. Therefore, a flower should always be wielded while playing this D&D.
The moth jar can hold up to 15 moths. Moths need to be released into the Chinchompa's nest to feed it and gain points. The maximum number of points is 1500; after this experience may still be gained for releasing moths into the nest. As one of the Completionist Cape requirements, you must have scored a minimum of 1,111 or greater in a single session of the Big Chinchompa minigame.

Private Hunting Areas
One of the rewards from this game is the ability to use special private hunting training grounds. Here you will be able to hunt plenty of creatures without competition with other players and fighting for a spot. You can enter these areas by buying Private hunting tickets with competence points and going through a portal in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. These include swamp lizards, pawyas, grenwalls, polar kebbits and carnivorous chinchompas.
You will need 1 ticket per creature caught. When you check your trap with a caught creature, it will use up one ticket. Using the portals doesn't use tickets, you will only need the appropriate ticket in your inventory.

Trivia
- You can obtain strange rocks and spin tickets from this Distraction and Diversion.
- Upon playing this Distraction and Diversion you will unlock the music track Super Furry Animal.
- The flower picked during the game will stay with the player even when the session is over, making buying another flower from the shop a waste, however only a small waste.
