Berserker shields are a reward for the Fist of Guthix activity. Berserker shields, like all other Fist of Guthix rewards, degrade in a similar fashion to Barrows equipment. They come in 2 metals: adamant and runite. Berserker shields, along with Spikeshields, are the only shields in Free-to-play which offer strength bonuses. Berserker shields give +1 defensive bonuses over Kiteshields of the same metal, as well as a Strength bonus. Berserker shields are repaired by paying Reggie a small amount of Fist of Guthix tokens.

Level 35 Defence is required to wield an Adamant berserker shield, and level 45 Defence to wield a Rune berserker shield.

Via alternatives: If you do not have the time to get 100 tokens or 300 tokens, you can buy these shields from the grand exchange, and then save up the amount of tokens needed to charge them at fist of guthix. Once you have got the correct amount of tokens, click use on your berserker shield, and use this on reggie.

A negative about berserker shields are though, you cannot re-sell them until they are fully uncharged to 0 again.
