Annakarl as seen during the God Wars.

Annakarl was one of Zaros's fortresses that was located in what is now the Wilderness. It was captured by the early Third Age and destroyed somewhere between the year 3100 and 4000 during the Third Age by followers of Zamorak and Saradomin. It is speculated that the Demonic Ruins in level 47 wilderness are all that remains of supposedly Annakarl, based on the fact that the Annakarl Teleport spell sends players there, although the structure of the ruins seem smaller than the structure viewed during the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest, suggesting that it is remnants of another building that was later erected there before being sacked yet again, more likely of a copy of the real Annakarl, as it is evident the similarity of the structure of the ruins compared to the structure viewed on the scene. This seem more likely, as the Zamorak and Saradomin followers used to attempt to rebuild the fortresses of the Zaros empire, creating copies on the location of the original settlements, as it occurred with Senntisten, the Saradominsts created the city of Saranthium above the ruins of Senntisten, however, the copy was destroyed by Zamorakian attacks as well.

Annakarl can be seen in its prime during a cutscene in the Ritual of the Mahjarrat Quest. During the God Wars it was under the control of Saradomin, but came under attack from Zamorakians as shown in the same cutscene.
