Gunpowder is an item used throughout the quest, A Clockwork Syringe. After players make a Cannonball barrel-boat, gunpowder must be loaded into the cannon on Bill Teach's ship, The Adventurous, to shoot the player onto Bloodsplatter Isle.
On Bloodsplatter Isle, it's used to explode a few unfinished barrelchest bodies. By putting it in empty barrels and loading them onto the unfinished bodies, the bodies will explode, killing the nearby Attendead and allowing players to read the Noticeboard in the room to collect evidence for Bill Teach.
