A Pillar is made by using a chisel on a stone slab with a hammer in your inventory, giving 20 crafting experience. There is currently no known use for it outside of the quest TokTz-Ket-Dill. The Menagerie construction update gave another use for the raw slab, which is to build a volcanic habitat.
