The Red topaz machete is the highest tier of machete available.
The machete in general is a useful tool for jungle exploration and Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup, because it can cut through the undergrowth where normal hatchets can't.
It can be obtained by buying one from Gabooty's store, with a price of 2,000 trading sticks or by bringing 1200 trading sticks, 3 cut or uncut red topaz and a gout tuber to Safta Doc in Tai Bwo Wannai village. Alternatively one can buy one from another player.
Getting Safta Doc to create a red topaz machete will count towards the That's Not A Knife... task in the Karamja Tasks.
This weapon is commonly used by combat pures with low attack, owing to it having no requirements, yet having a quick attack speed and decent slash bonus.

Trivia
- When participating in the Evil Tree Distraction and Diversion, a player automatically uses a machete, instead of a wielded hatchet, when cutting down evil roots. Presumably, the machete is on the toolbelt.
- The Red Topaz Machete has a 'stab' combat style although the weapon itself gives no stab attack and/or defence bonuses whatsoever.
