The Valluta is referred to throughout the Void Knights quest series and makes an appearance in the third quest, The Void Stares Back, where it is revealed what the Valluta actually is.

During the Quiet Before the Swarm quest, some believe it to be a creature. Knight Bernard says to Commodore Matthias:

Sir, what about the Valluta? I've heard some of the older knights telling tales of it. They said it was able to destroy pests on sight, just like squashing a bug with your toe.
Knight Bernard

In the Void knight book, obtained during A Void Dance by asking Korasi for more information about Void Knight beliefs, the Valluta is described by Dorel Ellerian as, "A fable, ladies and gentlemen. Take its story as an exhortation to continue the good fight, to be that shield against the pests that the story claims the Valluta to be. Do not allow yourself to become complacent, to think this fantastical thing will solve your problems without further effort. It is a metaphor for your own strength and prowess; it is not a living being." He also says that the Valluta is a rune. In the next quest these last things seemed to be false, as the Valluta appears to be neither a myth nor a rune.

During The Void Stares Back, it is revealed that the Valluta is a Guardian of Guthix in the shape of a giant tortoise, akin to Juna and Fiara, However, the 'Valluta' title can apply to any creature, weapon, or act that fights interference from outside RuneScape, hence meaning that the tortoise, the Void Knights, the player, and Korasi's sword are all 'Valluta'.

Wizard Grayzag saps energy from Valluta.

The Valluta was weakened by Wizard Grayzag using foodgoo during the third quest and used to help summon the Pest Queen. After the queen's destruction in the quest, the Valluta mentions that defeating the queen is normally an easy task. This indicates that in fully restored form the Valluta is a very mighty creature.

The portal to Valluta's chamber is sealed after the quest, so you cannot talk to her afterwards.

Note: If you try to talk to the Valluta when you're supposed to decide who to sacrifice, you will automatically be transported outside the beginning portal.
