A tile is currently a useless item that can be found in certain places in the Wilderness. Although many players speculated that they would be used in player-owned houses before their release (because Planks, a previously almost useless item too, are), they have remained without any use so far (apart from being low alched for free, for 31 Magic XP and no money with an Explorer's Ring 3 or Explorer's Ring 4- as good a way of getting rid of them as any).
When the Construction skill update was initially announced, a large number of players stocked their banks with tiles (as well as planks) from the Graveyard of Shadows. However, when it was revealed that the tiles were worthless, they were dropped; this resulted in a large amount of visible tiles dropped on the ground in many parts of the game.
