Thorodin is a mining dwarf currently working in the caves beneath Miscellania and Etceteria. He is one of a large group of miners that are likely from Keldagrim, the dwarven capital city. He seems to be the leader of the group.
Thorodin and his team were hired by King Vargas to expand the caves beneath Miscellania Castle. These caves, which were formerly dungeons for prisoners, are now being renovated to provide room for additional housing. Because the winds in the Northern Sea can get so strong and the cold can prove deadly, the prospect of living underground is greatly appealing to many of the kingdom's people.
Thorodin arrived recently, but has already made great progress. However, during Royal Trouble, a Giant Sea Snake and its young make their homes in the caves beyond the settled areas, halting progress.
After the player defeats the snake, Thorodin and his team go back to work and even today are continuing to expand the cave. Thorodin is also happy to lend players one of the team's extra bronze pickaxes, which can be found embedded in a nearby rock.
