Template:Word Bubble/doc

This is a documentation subpage for Template:Word Bubble. It contains usage information, categories, and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template creates a "word bubble" that you can use on talk pages and wherever else discussions take place. An example can be seen both above and below.

Usage

To create a Word Bubble, read the instructions and see the examples below. Once you have done that, insert <insert name here> in the box below and the preset template will be there for you to fill out with some basic instructions and cautions.

You can fill in the fields to whatever you want, with the colors either being in hexadecimal notation (e.g. #FFF) or in words (e.g. white); a list of colors can be found at Wikipedia's List of colors article. Note that for the image field, you have to leave out the "File:" part of the filename. Once you have filled in the fields, your word bubble is ready to be used. On talk pages and disscussions, you can now include it with this code:

Example

If you were "User" and User wanted to make a word bubble template, User would need to fill in the box above and fill in the blanks with colors of his choice, like this:

If User completed this and wanted to put this on User's user page, User would need to do this:

It will result in:

Hi. My name is User User   13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)

Reply

If Example replies wants to reply to this, Example would need to add on to the template. NOT creating a new one to reply. To do this, Example would need to do this:

{{Word Bubble/User|Hi. My name is User|~~~~~|Hey User! My name is [[User:Example|Example]]. I'm happy to meet you! ~~~~}}

Then this would result in this:

	Hi. My name is User User   13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)
	Hey User! My name is Example. I'm happy to meet you! --Example 13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)

If User wanted to reply back, User would need to do this

{{Word Bubble/User|Hi. My name is User|~~~~~|Hey User! My name is [[User:Example|Example]]. I'm happy to meet you! ~~~~|Hey Example! Have you checked out [[User:User|My User Page]] yet? I saw yours and it is really cool! ~~~~}}

This then will result in this:

	Hi. My name is User User   13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)
	Hey User! My name is Example. I'm happy to meet you! --Example 13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)
	Hey Example! Have you checked out My User Page yet? I saw yours and it is really cool! --User 13:32, 2 August, 2024 (UTC)

This could go on as long as the conversation needed it.
