The ancient ceremonial top is part of the ancient ceremonial robes set. It is dropped by Nex and Ancient Mages, which are in the Ancient Prison. The top allows you to activate an emote, but you must be wearing the entire set. When wearing the full set, you can enter the safe room in the Ancient Prison without having to obtain a kill count of 40.
It has no requirements to wear.

Trivia
- On 19 July 2011, the top suddenly rose to a price of 329.4M. It then returned to its normal price within a short amount of time. The cause of this dramatic spike in price was a faulty error in the servers, however, for the brief period of time before it was fixed, many players attempted to scam others (clearly surprised by the new price of the robes), by trading the top for items such as Dragon Claws, only for the purchaser of the ceremonial top to discover it wasn't worth near what he/she paid. The High Alchemy price stayed the same as it had always been.
- In the glitched mentioned above, players were able to CoinShare the robes and receive the aforementioned price in cash, most likely gaining billions depending on how many people were in the FriendsChat.
