A basket of Strawberries can be obtained by using strawberries on an empty basket. It is one of the most beneficial items of food a player can hold in one inventory space. One basket can hold up to five strawberries, so one full basket could potentially heal 345 life points in 5 bites (7% of a player's maximum life points per strawberry - up to 69 each at 99 Constitution - multiplied by 5 strawberries). The maximum amount of life point healing that can be achieved, with one set of the life point boosting Torva, Pernix or Virtus armour, 99 constitution, constitution cape boost, expensive spices necklace and bonfire health boost is 117 per strawberry. Therefore, a basket of five strawberries have the potential to heal 585 life points in a single inventory space.
Three baskets full of strawberries is the payment for a farmer to watch over a dwellberry bush or an orange tree in the Farming skill. Many people use this as food for training Agility, as they can recover a lot of life points and weigh very little -at 1/4 of a kilogram per basket- which will minimise the energy drain rate.
Players can also use this food for Runecrafting running to and from the Astral Altar where suqahs attack as players pass.
Recently, with the return of free-trade, players have been using this item for food staking.
