Heraldry stand
Heraldry stands are a hotspot found in the workshop of a player owned house. There are three types of stands:
- Pluming stands, these allow the player to modify both certain helmets with heraldry.
- Shield easels, allow the player to colour shields.
- Banner easels allow the player to create wieldable banners, as well as coloured shields and helmets.
The only herald-ready items are Steel/rune Kiteshields, as well as steel/rune full helmets. A Crafting level of 38 is needed to paint a helmet, 43 for a shield, and 48 is required to create a banner.
Players with a low Construction level and monetary restraints may visit someone else's house to create heraldic items. Owing to guests being allowed to use the heraldry stands in another's house.
To change your crest, talk to Sir Renitee, who resides on the first floor of the White Knights' Castle in Falador. Obtaining and changing a crest costs 5,000 coins (with the exception of the money crest).
Note: The Guthix, Saradomin and Zamorak painted heraldic banners, kiteshields, and helmets do not correspond with the Full Rune armour sets that can be retrieved from Treasure Trails.
On 25 March 2011 a way to un-paint heraldic items was found. If one is killed by a player in the Wilderness the shield or helmet is unpainted. Of course, it would be the killer's loot so it recommended to have a trustworthy friend assist. It is unconfirmed whether this is a glitch or not.
