Shadow Hounds are found in Damis's lair. They are encountered during the Desert Treasure quest, and can be found throughout the Chaos Tunnels. They are aggressive towards players with their combat level lower than 127.
They tend to interfere when a player is using the poison-technique on Damis. After Desert Treasure, they are difficult to kill in the Shadow Dungeon unless a player is willing to fend off level 80 Giant Skeletons; these are aggressive at any combat levels below 127, respawn fast, and are present throughout the dungeon. So, the easiest place to kill Shadow Hounds there is in the small round chamber leading off to the northwest of Damis's chamber. It contains a level 2 Giant rat and one hound, and provides a reasonably safe place away from the skeletons.
