Sagittares are members of the Sagittare Archers of Bilrach's army, and are boss monsters in Daemonheim requiring 45 Dungeoneering. They use range and magic, with teleporting ability, arrow rain, and multi shot. Sagittares always have Protect from Missiles on.
Attacks
- Regular single-targeted ranged arrow attack, of either ranged or magic.
- Magic multi arrows - Targets all players.
- Arrow-rain - Arrows fall from the sky as he teleports and deals unblockable damage to anyone standing within 2 squares of the initial location. This can be successfully avoided if you react quickly enough and move out of the targeted area. Anyone hit by the attack is bound to the ground for a short time and cannot run for a short time after.
- Ranged binding spell - Multi-targeted attack which have a chance to disable player from running regardless of whether damage is dealt. It is ranged based but having Protect from missiles prayer on will prevent damage but not the disabling effect.
- Magic binding spell - Multi-targeted attack which will bind player to the spot and stop him from moving if damage is dealt. It is magic based and Protect from magic will prevent all effects.
Tactics
Since Sagittare has Protect from Missiles perpetually activated, the only two options are to use magic or melee. Magic can be easier, since moving around will no longer be necessary when he teleports as much as someone using melee, but Sagittare always has resistance to magic, ranging from slightly magic resistant when he's a low combat level (which he'll be if the player has a low combat level and/or soloing) to extremely high magic resistant (which he'll be if the player has a high combat level and/or with a large team.)
Therefore, melee is usually the best option, unless the player's magic level is far higher than their strength and attack, or if he's a low combat level and therefore not very magic resistant.
If melee is used, and melee armour is worn, it is recommended to use Protection from Magic or Deflect Magic. This covers the weak spot, and prevents Sagittare from binding. Prayer flashing can also be used, but may difficult due to Saggitare's irregular attack speed.
When Sagittare shouts "Back off!", do as he suggests, as he follows up this warning with a cry of "Arrow rain!", causing a group of arrows falls from the sky and strike the spot the player was standing on when the attack started. This attack does not follow players, and can easily be avoided.
A good idea is to create a gatestone and place it outside of the boss room. This way, when you are in the middle and Sagittare teleports to the outside ring you don't have to spend time running to him and either wasting lifepoints or prayer points.
Sagittare will do his special attack and teleport every time he loses 1/5 of his LP. Similarly to the Luminescent Icefiend, he activates the special attack and teleports when he is on 1 LP as a last ditch effort. His last teleport tends to be to the middle area of the room. It is possible to kill him with Retribution, a Deflect Curse, or poison without him teleporting the final time.

Additionally, Sagittare will randomly drop 125 of a single type of arrow along with the bow as he dies. The bow and arrow will be of the same tier.
Trivia
- Sagittare is derived from the Latin word Sagittarius, meaning archer. The ninth astrological sign in the Zodiac is also called Sagittarius; a centaur who, like Sagittare, prominently wields a bow.
- Sagittare is one of the few Dungeoneering bosses that is not immune to poison, along with the Unholy Cursebearer, Skeletal Horde, Warped Gulega and Blink.
- The Sagittare's leader's last name is Bolton, according to the ammunition requisition orders.
- This monster has an irregular attack speed - sometimes it attacks at a speed of 6, sometimes at a speed of 7. This is probably intentional, to thwart prayer flashing. He is one of seven bosses with irregular attack speeds, the others being Astea Frostweb, To'Kash the Bloodchiller, the Unholy cursebearer, Har'Lakk the Riftsplitter, Gravecreeper and the Necrolord.
- Although arrows of the same tier are always dropped along with the bow, they are not mentioned in the chatbox.
