Ring of wealth glitch

On 15 March 2011, an update to the Ring of Wealth introduced new teleport abilities for the ring and made the ring notify the player when it increased the chances of obtaining a rare drop. Within a half hour of the update players discovered that while in lootshare the effects of the ring of wealth stacked. This allowed players to obtain extremely rare items consistently.

This flood of rare items including godsword hilts caused the price of godswords to crash. Players were able to get rares such as sigils as a 100% drop from the Corporeal Beast. The day after the glitch, Mod Mark personally apologized for what happened. No one was banned for using this bug, as players were not aware that this was not intended to happen, since the update promised an increased chance of receiving rare drops.

After Jagex reviewed the bug, they promptly fixed it, and Ring of Wealth's unique ability stopped stacking in lootshare mode.
