The Ravenous vampyre appears at Fairy ring ALQ in the Haunted Woods east of Canifis when the player is on a Slayer challenge assigned by Mazchna or Achtryn. For the challenge, the player must be near the ring and must contact Mazchna or Achtryn using an Enchanted gem. The monster will then drop from the sky into the centre of the ring and attack the player.

- The Ravenous vampyre is similar or perhaps identical in appearance to the level 72 Vampyres that can be found in the Haunted Woods, and its drop-out-of-the-sky appearance is similar to how the regular level 72 vampyres appear.
- Ravenous Vampyres are mentioned in Return to Canifis, the second Runescape novel.
