Leech Special Attack, one of the Ancient Curses, boosts special attack energy, while draining enemy special attack energy by up to 10%; it does not work on monsters, as they cannot use special attacks. This prayer is especially useful in PvP situations since it is possible to stop players from using special attacks by draining their special attack bar. This prayer can help reduce the number of times a player is hit by a special attack. For example, if a player is hit with subsequent Dragon dagger or Dragon claws specials, this prayer can prevent a fourth special (or in the Dragon claws' case, the second specials) from being used, potentially saving the player from death.

A player activates the Leech Special Attack curse.

Note: This prayer, unlike Soul Split, does not work against NPCs.

As a result of the Evolution of Combat update, Leech Special Attack will be adjusted to affect the adrenaline bar, rather than the special attack bar.<ref>Jagex Talks Combat - More Info. Jagex.*</ref>

Trivia

• This prayer is used in Clan Wars or Castle Wars against their opponents to steal away special attacks. The player can then use his or her own special attack as a counter.
• A tactic in PvP is to leave this curse on even when not fighting, so that if rushed by a weapon such as Dragon claws there is a chance to leech the rusher's special so they cannot perform the second special attack.
• According to the ancient hymnal, Leech Special Attack's verbal incantation is "Reple me impetu speciali hostium." (Fill me with the special attacks of my enemy.)
