(Mad) King Narras Ardignas was a former king of Ardougne. He died some years ago, before the rule of King Ulthas. However, his time of rule is unknown. Some speculate he was the second king of Kandarin, following the kingdom's founder that participated in The Great Battle and preceding King Ulthas.
King Narras is mentioned only in the Game book, found in the bookshelves in a player's house. According to the book, King Narras was insane, and invented the game of Hangman to encourage literacy amongst his subjects.
King Narras's idea of hangman, however, involved hanging actual people in the gallows. While one person guessed the word, the one in the gallows would come increasingly closer to death. If the word was not guessed in time, the victim would be hung and killed.
