Keyboard control
Keyboard control was a game mechanic that Jagex had previously investigated to enhance gameplay experience. It would have involved using a computer keyboard to move the character rather than using the cursor. Andrew Gower commented on 3 September 2009 that Jagex was looking into keyboard mechanics.

However, it was revealed on 19 February 2010, by Mod Nick, that the project had been abandoned. Potential packet loss and latency were some of the few factors that contributed to the abandonment of keyboard control.
