The Head of a swamp creature is fought on a boat ride during the Temple Trekking minigame. It is located in a multi-combat zone with four tentacles. The parts attack only with melee, so Protect from Melee is recommended.
Strategy
The head can only be defeated when the four level 99 tentacles are killed. The head can hit up to 200 life points, and the tentacles can hit up to 120 life points each.
One strategy to kill this multi-part monster is to use Protect from Melee and kill the tentacle closest to the follower. When that is dead, the follower should be a little safer.
Kill the other tentacles in order from the distance from the follower, closest to farthest. Poisoning a tentacle works well as the poison damages all four tentacles as well as the head.
If the head is near death and a tentacle is still alive, it will return to full health. When the tentacles are dead, the head should not be much of a problem.
Trivia
- The Head looks almost identical to a monster fought near the beginning of Ratchet and Clank 2, as well as many other commonly seen fictional swamp monsters.
- If you click on a tentacle as it is rising from the water, you see that it is level 136 while it becomes level 99 when it is fully out of the water.
