The Royal crown is a part of the Royal outfit released on 22 February 2010. It is worn for strictly decorative purposes. It can be looted from a Kingly impling or bought from another player. Originally, players believed it was more rare than other Royal items. However, this is not true. All Royal items are equally rare. The Royal set can be stored in the Armour case in the Costume room of a Player-owned house.

Trivia
- In the first hour of release, this item appeared in the Grand Exchange on free worlds although this was quickly fixed.
- The crown is the most expensive part of the set by far, mainly because it is in high demand and the crown is more aesthetically pleasing than the other components of the royal set.
- The royal crown is not the same crown that the Kingly Impling wears, even though it is based on the Kingly impling's crown.
- The market value of the crown started to decrease for the first time on 19 July 2010. This was due to the fact that Kingly Implings were being easily captured commonly in the newly introduced Al Kharid resource dungeon.
- When a player logs out and in while wearing the royal crown, it appears to sink into the back of a player's hair making it look slightly like a tiara. This has yet to be fixed by Jagex, but by removing it and re-equipping it goes back to normal.
