The Goblin is a monster encountered during the tutorial Unstable Foundations. He must be defeated to stop him from pilfering through Sir Vant's supplies. This is the first monster that must be defeated in the whole game. He only hits back once per player's hit. He never moves out of his square. If you stop attacking him, he would go back to rummaging Sir Vant's pack, even if you are still within melee range. This is probably a measure to stop players from dying during Unstable Foundations (the player has a maximum hit in the 20s but the goblin could only hit up to 16). He could only be attacked while wearing all the deceased squire's gear, bronze platebody, bronze square shield and bronze sword, otherwise Sir Vant would stop you.
