The Gadderhammer is a two-handed members-only maul. There are no combat requirements for wielding the gadderhammer. To obtain the gadderhammer the player must defeat Gadderanks during In Aid of the Myreque.

This weapon cannot be made using the Smithing skill. It has a very similar appearance and combat animation to the granite maul.

Gadderanks was afraid of Shades and invented the Gadderhammer. As a result, the hammer has bonus stats against shades, although not enough to outpace a dragon weapon or above in damage.

If lost, the Gadderhammer can be bought from the Burgh de Rott general store owner for 3,000 coins or from the Grand Exchange.

The street price had dropped a fair amount towards the end of 2007, from 250,000 coins to 30,000, and then to 2,000 since the release of the Grand Exchange. Today it costs around Expression error: Unrecognized punctuation character "[". coins, similar to its High Level Alchemy value.

Trivia

  • Once, before the release of the Grand Exchange, many players tried to use the Gadderhammer to scam people. They would withdraw a Gadderhammer as a note, and try to pull it off as a Granite maul, because they look similar (i.e. they are both hammers).
  • Many players were also scammed because other players tried to convince them to trade Granite mauls for Gadderhammers. Many players that didn't know about the Gadderhammer and believed it would be as powerful as the Granite maul if not more powerful because of the gold trim.
  • When the Gadderhammer was first released, there were no requirements; quest or level, to wield. This meant that any low level character could hold the Gadderhammer which offered excellent bonuses. This was changed in an update a few days after.
