Ernest is Veronica's fiancé, whom is featured prominently in the quest Ernest the Chicken, as well as the Court case " Ernest Vs. Professor Oddenstein ". He and Veronica were lost on the way to Falador, so Ernest went into Draynor Manor to ask for directions. Unfortunately, Professor Oddenstein caused Ernest to turn into a chicken after attempting to test out his latest invention, the time machine.
It would also appear that Ernest would often postpone his wedding due to misfortunes happening to him, as seen when interrogating him during his court case. When asked why he visited Draynor Manor instead of Draynor Village, he tells the player that Draynor Manor seems like an exciting place to visit and he wanted to find out its secrets, and that he could postpone the wedding if something happened to him again.
Quests
Ernest is part of the Ernest the Chicken quest, where a player has to help the professor fix the machine to transform Ernest back into his human form. If the player succeeds, Ernest will reward the player with 3000 Coins, 10 Eggs, and 300 Feathers. Before the 15 December 2009 update, he only gave 300 coins. But if a player had completed the quest before said date, they can receive the newer reward upon talking to Professor Oddenstein.
Trivia
- After the quest, Ernest cannot be found in-game. But if you get a Court summons in regards to his case against Professor Oddenstein, he can be found in the holding cell of the Seers' Village Courthouse.
- After completing the quest, Veronica says that Ernest "Is off talking to some green warty guy", likely a goblin. It's possible this is Greldo, the goblin sent to get a cabbage from Draynor Manor's patch in the Black Knight's Fortress quest.
