Catalyctic runes
Non-elemental runes are all the runes that are not elemental runes. They include Mind runes, Body runes, Chaos runes, Death runes, Cosmic runes, Law runes, Nature runes, Blood runes, Astral runes, and Soul runes. All of these can be crafted using the Runecrafting skill, except for Soul runes. However, the only non-elemental runes free players can craft are mind runes and body runes. Body, Mind, Chaos, and Death runes can be bought at the two Magic stores (in Varrock and Port Sarim) in free-to-play worlds.
Non-elemental runes are also sometimes called base runes, or catalytic runes (before the Fist of Guthix activity). Now that term is confusing because there is a new item used in the Fist of Guthix activity with the same name. There are special runes called catalytic runes used in the Fist of Guthix activity. Each rune can act as either one Mind rune, Body rune, Chaos rune, Death rune, Cosmic rune, Law rune, or Nature rune. At the beginning of the game each player receives 300 catalytic runes.
