Cap'n Arnav's Chest

Cap'n Arnav's Chest is a random event. Players may be randomly teleported by Cap'n Arnav to an island, where he has found some treasure. He teleports you to an island in the middle of nowhere and asks you to solve his combination lock. You get 5 tries. If you don't succeed after 5 tries, he hits you over the head with his bottle and teleports you off to some distant land somewhere in RuneScape. Upon correctly completing the random event, players receive a random event gift.

History

Previously, Arnav had buried a treasure in the player's farming patch and would ask the player to open his chest for him. If the player got the combination wrong twice, he teleported them to an unknown location within RuneScape. Prior to 25 February, it was only possible to receive this random event while farming.

Now players may encounter Cap'n Arnav whilst doing anything. In addition, this event has become available to free-to-play players as well.

Trivia

• His island is circled by 4 sharks, examining each one shows a different text, "Sleek, sinister, silent, and shark-shaped", "Like a dolphin, but considerably less cute", "Ooh, look, a floating fin", and "Selachimorpha" which is the superorder sharks fall under.
• You can quickly talk to him when another player gets the random. Arnav will say "Ah, I cannot be stoppin' to chat to ye now lassie. There be treasure out there, and I wants it."
• He will punch you when you leave after failing to solve his puzzle. The next time a player gets him as a random event, they have an option to mention this to him.
