Akthanakos's animal form, said to be inspired by the "Camel God".

The "Camel God" is an unofficial name given to a thus far unnamed deity worshipped by the people of the Kharidian Desert. The god's existence is implied by Aristarchus, a Menaphite historian from the city of Menaphos that is currently residing in Polnivneach.

Aristarchus suggests that Akthanakos, a Mahjarrat loyal to Zaros, took on a slightly different form when he arrived in Gielinor from Freneskae in the Second Age. This form was apparently influenced by a god of the Menaphite Pantheon that bears resemblance to a camel. However, the god is not amongst those that have been explicitly mentioned by name in-game, leaving the nature of this god unclear.

It is also possible that Aristarchus simply meant Akthanakos imitated the style of the Menaphite gods by assuming a desert animal-headed humanoid, and not a specific god. However, a poll released by Jagex on 26 July 2010 made specific reference to the god, including the statement "some in the desert insist he's real!" <ref>Jagex. "Odd Gods", Question Who is your favourite deity in RuneScape?. 26 July 2010. RuneScape Polls. *</ref> This would suggest that the god actually exists, or is believed by some Kharidians to exist.

Jagex has implied that, when Menaphos is opened, more Menaphite deities may be revealed. It is possible that the Camel God is amongst those.
