Black bears can be found in forests in RuneScape including south east of Varrock by the mining area, west of The Dig Site. They can also be found between the Goblin Village and the dwarf encampment (below the Mind altar ruins) or the lower-levelled Wilderness. They are also located on Entrana. They always drop bones, bear fur, and raw bear meat which is in demand as an ingredient in wild pie.
They can be killed in the place of bears for a bear slayer assignment given by Mazchna.

The fur can be sold to a fur trader (located in Varrock, Ardougne and Rellekka) for 12 coins. The meat can be cooked and consumed to heal 30 life points, and the bones can be buried for 4.5 Prayer experience.
Trivia
- Although black bears have black fur, the fur they drop when killed is brown.
- They are featured in the Armies of Gielinor Zamorak Campaign. They are seen as Seren followers.
- There was a glitch where the black bears in Varrock look like they glide around and have no fighting or death animation.
