Examine text | It's a brightly coloured bird of the jungle. |
The Bird, located outside the Nature Altar, is an attackable bird, probably representing a Corella. They are exactly the same birds as the ones that appear on Ape Atoll and Crash Island, since they have the same appearance, combat level and examine text. They fly high above the ground around the hill which the Nature Altar is on. These birds can only be attacked by ranged and magic. Once dead they fall to the ground, but drop nothing.
It has been noticed there are very few birds around the altar anymore. The most efficient method to kill these birds for slayer tasks would be to go to the volcano. As an alternative, there are a reasonable amount of them on Crash Island - however, this area has scorpions and snakes that hit much harder than their level suggests and poison you, so you would be advised to bring antipoisons. Ape Atoll is not recommended, as the birds are more widely spread out and you run the risk of being captured by the monkeys at the gate.
For the birds slayer task you can also kill the seagulls in Port Sarim and it counts for the slayer task.
