A Big Wolf is a wolf found on top of White Wolf Mountain near the gnome glider. It usually proves deadly to low-levelled players attempting to cross the mountain. It can also be found in the Chaos Tunnels.
Its bones (along with all other wolf bones) can be used with a chisel to create wolfbone arrowtips for use in the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest. Despite the intimidating combat level it has low defence. This means that someone with good armour (adamant or better) and a fast weapon such as a scimitar who is about combat level 50 can easily defeat it. The big wolf's drops aren't very good however, although it seems to drop charms quite frequently. As it is in a multi-combat area, a group of low-levelled players can easily take it down. The big wolf at the top of the white wolf mountain may need to be killed in order to access to the Gnome Glider.
Some low-levelled players train ranged or magic on the Big Wolf as there is a fence from which they can be safe-spotted.
Killing this monster will count toward a Slayer task of wolves.
