The Battle of Camdozaal was an armed conflict between the dwarven hall of Camdozaal and an anti-magic Fremennik group who became increasingly angry with the use of Magic in the world of Gielinor, believing that runestones were to be used only by the gods. The Fremenniks, led by the warrior Gunnar, were among the many armies of Barbarians who waged a massive campaign across Gielinor to stop the use of runes in a conflict known as the Runecrafting Crusades, that lasted from Years 42 to 62 of the Fifth Age, where the Barbarians eventually settlled at the border between Asgarnia and Misthalin.
The Battle
Camdozaal was once a mighty underground city of the then-prosperous Imcando dwarves, master smiths and miners that inhabited some parts of Asgarnia until recently. Camdozaal was attacked by Gunnar's Fremenniks and ransacked in the ensuing battle. The dwarves put up a strong defence and many of the Fremennik aggressors being pushed back time and again, but ultimately the barbarians proved superior and their numbers eventually overwhelmed the dwarven defenders, allowing them to enter the city and massacre the majority of the populace, leaving only a handful of survivors, which have since dwindled to two (that have been encountered), Thurgo and Ramarno.
