Ashtrix was an assistant of Pikkupstix, who managed to cut off his own hand, after which he wedged a hacksaw to the stump and would not let anyone help him in his delirium.
His name is possibly a reference to Ash, of the Evil Dead films, who replaced his own self-amputated hand with a strapped on-chainsaw.
