Brugsen was the first mate of the ship Edelweiss in the recent Fifth Age.<ref>Jagex. Postbag 43 - "Postbag suffers from feature creep.", Letter 5. Postbags from the Hedge. *</ref> He is mentioned in Postbag from the Hedge 43 as having visited a number of Southern Sea islands during his lifetime, including Crandor.

In Year 129, Brugsen helped take the duke of Lumbridge and his son, Horacio, to Crandor and Entrana.
