The cider barrel is a piece of furniture that can be built in the Kitchen of a player-owned house with the Construction skill. The barrel, used with an empty beer glass, supplies the player with an unlimited amount of cider. The cider cannot be taken outside of a player owned house. The cider from a barrel cannot be used to build another cider barrel in the workshop.

Building a cider barrel requires at least 12 Construction, 3 Planks, 3 Nails of any type and 8 Glasses of Cider (Warning: ales and ciders obtained from barrels in a player-owned house cannot be used outside the house). It gives 91 experience when made. Cider can be brewed in Keldagrim or purchased from other players. Additionally, players who have completed the quest Royal Trouble can access a store beneath Miscellania that sells glasses of cider. Cider barrels are most often used for house parties.
