A fern can be built in the small plant hotspots of the Garden in a player-owned house. It requires 12 Construction for a small plant and earns the player 70 experience. Experience is applied to both Construction and Farming. It requires a bagged plant 3 and a watering can to plant.
Ferns can also be seen in the Feldip Hills Hunter area and behind the wizard's towers. Examine texts includes "Some kind of low-lying jungle fern." and "The almost fractal style of these plants is fascinating."
An interesting sidenote is that the previous examine text is a reference to a study that showed that plants and trees (ferns among them) follow a 'fractal equation'.
This fern seems to resemble the Australian Bird's-nest Fern.
