Concept artwork for player-owned ports

A player-owned port is a game feature that is yet to be released. They were first announced at RuneFest 2011. Jagex has stated that they plan to release player-owned ports sometime in December 2012, which was revealed in the fourth Q&A lifestream. It has been said they will be similar to the idea of Managing Miscellania, where a player's captains will hunt for items on their behalf. These captains will return with "recipes" for items to make high level equipment ranging from levels 85 to 99<ref>Runescape official youtube channel</ref>. However, little other information has been revealed.

Mod Mark confirmed that high level smithing will be expanded with player-owned ports.<ref>Mod Mark. "Q&A Answers 17th Feb". 17/02/2012. General Forums. *</ref>

In the Official Live Q&A- Lore, it is confirmed that the plotline of the Player-owned Ports will be exploring the Eastern Lands.
