'''Surge spells''' are the strongest elemental group of [[magic]] combat spells in the standard spellbook, aside from the [[God spell]]s and [[Iban Blast]]. The catalytic runes used for surge spells are one [[blood rune]] and one [[death rune]]. Elemental staves can be used to cut the costs of these spells. These are members only spells. Like all combat spells, each damage point caused by these spells yields 0.2 magic experience points and 0.133 constitution experience points.<br />
