'''Skeletal armour''' is [[Fremennik armour]] for [[Combat classes#Mage|mages]] that can only be made by going to [[Waterbirth Island]]. It requires 40 [[magic]] and 40 [[defence]] to wear. It can only be worn after the completion of [[The Fremennik Trials]]. The armour stats are almost identical to [[Splitbark armour]], being a few points lower in both magic attack and overall defence. When the full set of skeletal armour is worn (boots and gloves not needed), the title "Skullbearer" is added to the player's Fremennik name.

The raw materials for this armour are:
* [[Skull piece]] (helm)
* [[Fibula piece]] (bottoms)
* [[Ribcage piece]] (top)
In addition to the above, [[dagannoth hide]]s and money are required to complete the armour pieces. Top requires 3 dagannoth hides and 10000 coins, legs require 2 dagannoth hides and 7500 coins, and helm requires 1 dagannoth hide and 5000 coins.

These pieces are dropped by [[Dagannoth]]s and [[Wallasalki]]s, who also drop [[Skeletal gloves]] and [[Skeletal boots]]. In addition, parts of this armour can be dropped by [[Dagannoth Prime]]. Once the raw materials have been obtained, it can be brought to [[Peer the Seer]] in [[Rellekka]] to be made into the skeletal armour. Skeletal pieces are only dropped by Wallasalkis and the dagannoth hides by dagannoths. Dagannoth Prime drops completed armour pieces rather than the raw materials.

Skeletal armour may be placed in a [[magic wardrobe]] within the [[Costume room]] of a [[player-owned house]], so that the armour set does not take up bank space. This armour should not be confused with the [[Skeleton Set]] holiday items given out for the [[2006 Hallowe'en event]]. The Holiday Skeleton Set gives no bonuses in any stat.

While the GE price of Skeletal armour is about twice that of [[Splitbark armour]], Splitbark armour has better stats in every category. This is likely due to players who purchase the armour for its appearance rather than its function.
