'''Shantay Guards''' can be found guarding the [[Shantay Pass]] in southern [[Al Kharid]]. There are two attackable Level 22 guards, and one who manages who passes through the gate. The attackable guards only drop bones, and are not often fought.

One Shantay Guard protects the gates from Shantay Pass into the [[Kharidian desert]]. If a player attempts to go through the gate without a [[Shantay pass]], this Shantay Guard will open a dialogue with the player stating they must purchase a [[Shantay pass]] from [[Shantay]] for 5 [[coins]]. However, for 200 [[coins]], the guard can be bribed to let you through without a Shantay pass. The Guard can take these coins from either your inventory or your bank. This is a useful option for players who would require the space that would otherwise be taken up by a pass for another item such as [[waterskins]] or food.

Killing Shantay Guards is a decent method of obtaining experience for lower level players, but because their only drops are bones, no profit can be made. They are very slow and have a weak defence, so they are very easy to kill, but it is suggested to train on alternative monsters.
