The '''Rune mace''' is stronger than the [[adamant mace]], and weaker than the [[Dragon mace]]. Like all [[Rune weapons]], it requires 40 attack to wield. Players can make a rune mace with the [[smithing]] skill at level 87 using one [[Rune bar]], giving the player 75 smithing [[experience]]. This mace can alternatively be bought from the shop in the [[Champions' Guild]], and the [[Grand Exchange]] in [[Varrock]]. The mace has a decent +4 bonus for prayer, making it an ideal weapon for utilising prayer for longer periods of time while in combat. However, it is rarely used in combat, as more players prefer the speed of the scimitar or the power of the battleaxe or two-handed sword. The only way this weapon could perform well is if an individual has 65+ attack, 43+ prayer and accompanies it with a holy symbol. Its crush attack and strength bonuses are slightly better than that of the [[Gadderhammer]].<br />
