==Trivia==<br />
*Ranis is the first member of [[House Drakan]] to die at the hands of someone other than the player; [[Count Draynor]], [[Dessous]] and [[Vanstrom Klause]] have all been slain by the player, whilst Ranis was slain by his own sister Vanescula.<br />
*His combat level is shown to be 412 during cutscenes in [[The Branches of Darkmeyer]]. This is only slightly lower than Vanescula's (424) and yet Vanescula appeared to have no trouble killing Ranis.<br />
*Ranis is also the second (close) relative of Lord Drakan to die, after [[Count Draynor]] in [[Vampyre Slayer]]. At of the end of [[The Branches of Darkmeyer]], Lord Drakan and Vanescula remain the only Drakan family members alive.<br />
