The '''Promethium spear''' is a weapon used in the [[Dungeoneering]] skill. It is made of the metal [[Promethium]], and may be smithed from 4 [[Promethium bar]]s at level 97 [[Smithing]]. It can also be received as a drop from [[World-gorger Shukarhazh]], level 141 [[Hobgoblin (Daemonheim)|hobgoblins]], or [[Forgotten warrior]]s that are visibly wielding it. This spear is slightly less accurate than [[Vesta's spear]], but is stronger due to its higher strength bonus. It requires level 90 [[Attack]] to wield and may be poisoned using [[Herblore]] skill.<br />

It is the second strongest spear inside Daemonheim, behind the [[Primal Spear]].<br />

It used to be considered to be one of the best weapons to bind because it offers all three attack styles, allowing you to fight all kinds of enemies effectively. In addition, unlike the [[Promethium 2h sword]] or the [[Promethium maul]], it can be poisoned, allowing for increased damage over time. While the promethium spear does have the 3 attack styles, which would make it seem most accurate, the [[promethium 2h sword]] with its two attack styles, and very high accuracy bonuses still hits pretty much all monsters very well. It also allows for more flexibility for quick-switching the ring of kinship since the melee option would not take up a spot.<br />

However, it is neither the fastest nor the strongest weapon, and you cannot utilise the shield slot while wielding a spear. With the new [[Ring of kinship/Classes|Class ring]] styles available, it is more efficient to bind a [[Promethium 2h sword]] or [[Promethium battleaxe]] while using any of the three melee ring styles.<br />
