The '''Promethium chainbody''' (Tier 10) is an item that can only be obtained and used while [[Dungeoneering]]. It requires level 90 [[Defence]] to wear. It may be picked up from the table at the beginning of a dungeon, obtained as a monster drop, or produced using the [[Smithing]] skill.<br />

It can be produced by using 3 [[Promethium bars]] with a [[hammer]] on an [[anvil]], requiring level 96 Smithing and granting 282 smithing [[experience]].<br />

If possible, it is usually advised to produce a [[promethium platebody]] instead for the party's warriors, as it gives better defence bonuses overall. However, its crush defence bonus is the half of crush defence bonus from the chainbody. Producing a [[Promethium platebody]] requires 5 bars opposed to 3 bars for the chainbody, and the platebody is less suitable for armoured rangers and mages as it lowers the wearer's [[Ranged]] and [[Magic]] attack bonuses more than the chainbody.<br />
