It offers the strongest defence from crush attacks out of all Dungeoneering items, but Gorgonite (and above) platebodies offer better protection in general, besides crush defence and the fact that it doesn't lower the wearer's ranged attack bonus, it's almost equivalent to a [[Katagon platebody]]. However, rangers may prefer the chainbody as it gives considerable Defence bonuses but does not lower the wearer's [[Ranged]] attack bonus.<br />
