'''Plant pots''' are used in the [[Farming]] skill to turn [[Tree seed]]s, [[Fruit Tree seed]]s, [[Calquat tree seed]]s and [[Spirit tree seed]]s into [[seedling]]s.

With the appropriate [[Farming]] level and a [[Gardening trowel]] in their inventory, a player can create a [[seedling]] by using a [[tree seed]] on a filled plant pot. After watering a [[seedling]] with a [[watering can]], a few minutes later it will sprout into a [[sapling]] and be ready for planting in a [[Tree patch]].

[[Farming shops]] in [[Catherby]], [[Port Phasmatys]], [[Ardougne]], and south of [[Falador]] sell filled plant pots for 1 coin each. They may also be obtained on the [[Grand Exchange]], although this may take some time due to the buying limit.

An empty plant pot may be created with the [[Crafting]] skill at Level 19 by using a [[soft clay]] on a [[potter's wheel]], which creates an [[unfired plant pot]]. When fired in a [[pottery oven]], it becomes an empty plant pot, giving a total of 37.5 experience points. The maximum experience potentially gained from each trip is 1,050.

Planting a [[seedling]] in a [[tree patch]] produces an empty plant pot in inventory, and empty plant pots may also be obtained on the [[Grand Exchange]].

To fill a plant pot, with a [[gardening trowel]] in inventory use the empty plant pot on any [[Farming/Patch locations|patch]] that does not need weeding. The [[Farming/Patch locations|patch]] can be empty or have a plant in any growth state in it.

With filled plant pots available from [[farming shops]] for the same price as empty plant pots, most players simply discard empties on use.
