Lit incense burners increase the amount of [[Prayer]] [[experience]] gained when using [[bones]] or [[demon ashes]] with the altar in the room (depending on the altar). Note that all three types of incense burners - Oak, Mahogany, or Marble — all yield the same experience bonus.

Both incense burners give the same [[Prayer#Player_Owned_Houses|prayer bonus]]. The player must have a [[clean marrentill]] and a [[tinderbox]] to light a burner. For maximum prayer bonus, both burners have to be lit.

Building incense burners requires at least 61 Construction, two [[Steel Bar]]s and four [[Oak planks]]. Creating incense burners gives 280 Construction experience.

The burners burn 2 minutes and 10 seconds before they burn out. They '''will not''' stay lit when the player leaves the house.

[[Marble burners|Marble incense burners]] (used for Gilded marble altars) seem to stay lit for about 2-3 minutes like the other incense burners.
