Nomad is the host of the Soul Wars minigame and an immensely powerful magician. When players first arrive on the island, they will encounter Nomad and his imp minion Zimberfizz. Nomad will offer players a free tour of the battlefield along with a short explanation, or a book that explains fighting in Soul Wars. He plays a major role in the quest Nomad's Requiem, in which he is the primary antagonist.

Nomad built the Soul Obelisk and used it to gain immense power from souls. He is currently the highest levelled quest boss fought by conventional methods in the game.

It is confirmed on livestream that Nomad's master was Lucien.
Rewards
Nomad may reward players by exchanging Zeal points for:
*Experience in Slayer or any Combat skill with the exception of Summoning. This amount varies upon your level in that skill. Saving 100 zeal points and spending them all at once will give a bonus to the experience received.
*Gambling for random items.
*Charms.
*Bringing Slayer monsters back from the dead as pets.

Trivia
*Before the graphical update in association with the quest Nomad's Requiem, he looked similar to an Elite dark mage - this supports the idea that Nomad's master was Lucien (considering he had an army of Elite Dark warriors, mages and rangers). The idea of Nomad's master being Lucien was confirmed by Mod Mark in the Official RuneScape Lore Q&A Livestream from 4 November 2012.
*After completing Animal Magnetism, you can speak to him with Ava's device (any variant works) to allow your Soul Wars team cape to collect your ammo inside Soul Wars.
*It was revealed on the fourth day of Cryptic Clue Fest IV, that Nomad is actually a scheming Dwarf called Honeydew inside a mechanical suit and that he built the Soul Obelisk with an iron pickaxe, although this was just a joke. This was probably a possible reference to the famous MineCraft player with the same name.
*The spell he uses during the Soul Wars tutorial to kill the player looks similar to Iban Blast.
*Nomad's appearance may have been based upon Darth Malak, of the "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic".
Nomad is an immensely powerful man with a combat level of 699 and 10,000 life points. He is widely regarded as the most difficult quest boss to date and is fought during the quest Nomad's Requiem. Nomad is immune to all types of deflect damage. As a result, Vengeance cannot be used to recoil potentially large amounts of damage back to him, nor can rings of recoil be used to slowly chip away at his health. Moreover, prayers cannot protect against Nomad's attacks (although Protect from Melee or Deflect Melee will partially block out the rapid melee attacks that Nomad uses when he falls to 1/4 of his health). Furthermore, the dragonfire attack from the Dragonfire shield, the special attack from Dragon Bolts (e), damage from Chinchompas, and all types of poison have no effect against him.

Nomad is fightable as a class A boss monster in the Dominion Tower minigame if the player has completed Nomad's Requiem.

NOTE: In order for the battle to count towards the requirement for unlocking the Goliath gloves, players will need to have killed <u>both</u> Nomads in the special mode battle "No More Nomad...No More!".

Capabilities & strategies
Nomad (monster)/Strategies

Trivia
*It was revealed on the fourth day of Cryptic Clue Fest IV, that Nomad is actually a scheming Dwarf called Honeydew inside a mechanical suit and that he built the Soul Obelisk with an iron pickaxe, although this was just a joke. This is a reference to a famous MineCraft player with the same name, Honeydew.
*A bug existed that allowed Nomad to be killed without retaliating or using any of his special attacks by using a Spirit kyatt. This allowed many low-levelled players that would not have been able to defeat Nomad normally to complete the quest. This has since been fixed.
*Nomad's appearance may have been based on Darth Malak, of the "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic".
*Some medium-level Quest Cape owners were disappointed upon release, as Nomad is very difficult to beat even with high combat stats. This has sparked some debate among the forums. Although there has been some complaint, Jagex has mentioned that they will not weaken Nomad. Here is the developer's response: "Too hard? Nomad is too easy! I wanted him to be much harder! Nomad himself will give you all the hints you need to defeat him while you battle him, so pay close attention to what is happening during the fight!"
*On the 10 January 2010, Jagex issued a hint via their Twitter feed, "Next week in RuneScape: Why did Nomad get updated last week?!"
*During the fight, when Nomad is reduced to 1/4 of his maximum life points, he will heal himself to half again. (From 2500 to 5000) This is shown by Nomad doing an animation that appears to be consuming two items from somewhere on his body. This would mean that Nomad has some type of food or potion that can heal 1250 Hp in one bite, consuming one inventory space.
*Before the graphical update in association with the quest Nomad's Requiem, he looked similar to an Elite Dark Mage.
*Nomad has the highest maximum hit possible by a monster in the game at 1757, but only when fighting a player with 99 Constitution and wearing full Torva armour, a bonfire boost, and the Saradomin brew health boost. (This does not work with Pernix armour or Virtus armour as they soak up magic damage) and no magic damage soaking armour: One of his special attacks hits one less than the player's maximum life points. The maximum hit in Dungeoneering is 990, which is done by Yk'Lagor the Thunderous, if you don't avoid his "This is ... TRUE POWER" attack. Kal'Ger the Warmonger is also capable of hitting 990 once he gets out his Primal maul.
*As of the Damage Soaking and Hitsplat update, the fight against Nomad has become easier. If you are wearing equipment which has magic absorb, you will find his more powerful attacks, such as the Soul blast and Disintegrate attack no longer hit as hard, lowering the difficulty.
*As another reduction in difficulty, potion flasks are available. The implication of these massive potions has drastically reduced the challenge previously posed by many bosses, Nomad included.
*The Disintegrate attack used to be avoidable. After Nomad's clones had disappeared and he resumed normal attacks, the player would run south towards the exit door. As Nomad was launching his sixth attack, the player would attempt to exit through the door. The player would receive the message "And where do you think you are going?" and was teleported back to the centre of the arena. If this was done correctly, Nomad would say "Face me!" before launching more regular attacks. This restarted the cycle. This was fixed on December 20 of 2010.
*In the Boss rematch V poll Nomad was chosen by the most number of players to face again.
*Nomad used to be the second highest levelled monster that required a right click to attack, behind only the TzTok-Jad and ahead of the Decaying avatar. However, this only applied to the quest and not to the Dominion Tower. A hidden update changed this, and he now has a left-click attack option during the quest.
*There used to be a glitch where Nomad would become stuck between two pillars if a player's timing was right. This caused Nomad to be unable to retaliate, making the fight much easier. This was patched on 30 April 2012.
*Although Jagex has not made Nomad easier directly (see above), They've installed many high-levelled updates which do make the battle easier. A perfect example is ganodermic armour. The armour has a 53% percent magic damage soaking rate, which would make, for example, his 750-damage attack only do 458 damage. Also, with the release of the Dungeoneering skill 3 months later, chaotic rapiers, which have powerful stab bonuses, can be used on Nomad, whose weakness is stab, allowing for easier kills.
