'''Mystic staves''' are combined [[melee]] and [[magic]]al weapons which can be used in [[combat]] and in spell casting. Their strongest style of melee attack is crushing, although they also confer defensive bonuses. To obtain a mystic staff, take an elemental [[battlestaff]] to
[[Thormac]], the person you talk to begin [[Scorpion Catcher]] and 40,000 coins and he will turn it into a Mystic staff. If you are wearing the Seer's headband 3 from the Seers village [[tasks]], the cost is reduced to 27,000 coins.

On top of their melee capabilities, Mystic staves also provide an unlimited supply of runes according to their name (''i.e. a [[Mystic fire staff]] replaces the need for fire runes when it is equipped'') although most people use normal staves, though these staves provide better bonus and double types of runes, for part of the mystic staff series.

Mystic staves require level 40 [[attack]] and [[magic]] to wield.
