[[File:Gasmask chat.png|left]]'''Mourners''' can be found in West Ardougne, in their headquarters in the same city, and near the gates of [[Arandar]]. They were introduced with the [[Plague City]] quest, and play a large part in the [[Plague City]] on-going quest story line.

The Level 11 (south of the Arandar gate) and Level 108 (in basement of Mourner HQ in West Ardougne) Mourners are killed for the [[Mourner gear]] they drop, required for [[Mourning's Ends Part I]], [[Mourning's End Part II|Part 2]], and [[Within the Light]]. '''WARNING:''' If you attack the Mourners located in Arandar they will drain your life points, Prayer, Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged and Magic levels down to 20 and stun you! Be prepared as this is how they attack, even at a range. '''Note:''' If you can kill it in one hit (two or more with special attack) in the first hit, they won't reduce your levels.

==Trivia==
*Before a graphical update, the Mourners used to wear gas masks resembling a modern anti-riot mask. This was a possible reference to Soviet liquidators, rescue personnel who wore thick protective gear and gas masks to avoid radioactivity from the exploded Chernobyl Nuclear Power plant.
*It would appear that some of the Mourners wield [[Holy Water]] but this doesn't affect combat.
*The Mourners are a reference to Plague Doctors from the Black Death epidemic during the 14th century.
*Their Life points draining ability makes them the one of the highest hitting monsters in Runescape. While wearing a full set of [[Torva]], [[Pernix]] or [[Virtus]] equipment with 99 constitution and full lifepoints they will hit for 1190 damage despite their combat level being 11.
*The level 108 Mourners are very similar to elf warriors, as they can be killed as an elf slayer task, have high defence, have similar drops, and can reach from 2 squares away.
